“Fire: World Première, a newly commissioned piece performed by fire artists, an ensemble of horns and Salisbury Community Choir. Composed by the acclaimed David Bruce and renowned pyrotechnic artists The World Famous, Fire is a spirited meditation on humankind’s enduring fascination with fire. This piece is based on a collage of texts, including Fire from celebrated poet Vikram Seth and poetry from the 6th Century Jewish poet Yannai. The piece will feature as part of New Music 20×12, a UK-wide commissioning programme initiated by Jillian Parker and David Cohen, and delivered by PRS for Music Foundation in partnership with the BBC, LOCOG, Sound and Music and NMC Recordings. Commissioned and presented by The Opera Group and Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival.”

Fire is based on a collage of texts, including works from celebrated poet Vikram Seth and the sixth-century Jewish poet Yannai. The piece - newly-commissioned by The Opera Group and Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival - is performed by fire artists, an ensemble of horns and a community chorus.”
